The village of Styal has a rich textile heritage and a mile from Louise's studio is a fantastic water powered cotton mill built by Samuel Greg in 1784 called Quarry Bank. Louise was invited to launch a new gallery space here in summer 2011. In parallel to this successful solo show 'Losing the Thread' Louise began a series of SUPERSTITCHERS workshops. Based very much on the masterclass Louise taught on 'Kirstie's Homemade home' the Superstitcher courses approach sewing in a fun and dynamic fashion. Drawing and design are a large part of the workshops and students are encouraged to let their hair down and not force creativity. Music, movement, coffee, biscuits and sometimes sherry are employed as aids to help get the creative juices flowing and every student leaves feeling inspired.

SUPERSTITCHERS - This course is suitable for anyone who has not done a course with Louise before. It is a fun and lively approach to drawing and stitching in the gorgeous QUARRY BANK MILL, Styal, Cheshire.
